Winston Sets Up Weekend Vibes with “Sunday”

Winston has just dropped the sweet summer banger ‘Sunday’.

Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of artists like Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Oumou Sangaré, Prince, Childish Gambino, Labrinth, The Weeknd, and Andre 3000, Winston highlights his love for creators that leave their mark and aren’t soon forgotten. Making a name for himself with velvet vocals and irresistible tracks, Winston is well on his way to living up to that standard.

His second release since signing with Nash Records, ‘Sunday’ weaves elements of alternative, indie, pop and R&B together to create a super catchy single. He’ll be performing this bouncy track and more on his 10+ date tour in September including a slot at the Music Festival.

Painting a picture of a big weekend partying with friends, Winston sings ‘Going out for the weekend, I’ll be back Sunday’. On the surface, this track is simply an anthem that gets you in the mood, an ode to the good times, and an all-around mood-lifter. Winston delves deeper though, explaining “Sunday is not just about FOMO, it’s not just about the best night out ever, it’s not just about having so much fun that you come back home on Sunday. It’s about being so obsessed with someone that only ‘the biggest night out of all time’ will get your mind off them.”

Jim Sherwood serves as chief creative, brand strategist, lead developer, meticulous project manager, and station collaborator for all Skyrocket Radio sites and projects.

Jim got his start in radio at WLSM in the small town of Louisville, MS in 1988. Since then he has worked on-air in all day parts and has held nearly every other station position at one time or another. Jim has worked for radio stations in several states and for iHeartMedia (Clear Channel Radio), CBS Radio, Cumulus Broadcasting and a few small locally-owned stations. He even hosted a morning show on an aircraft carrier for two years while in the Navy. Jim has a passion for radio history, music, gadgets and all kinds of geeky web stuff.

After 14 years at Clear Channel Radio, Jim left the industry in 2013 to devote full-time attention to his company, Mediagin Creative, a small freelance creative agency that develops WordPress websites as well as produces commercials for radio and TV. After being asked by the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters to speak to a panel of small market station owners about the need for better websites, it became apparent that an easy to use and low-cost solution was needed to assist smaller markets in competing for online ad dollars. Skyrocket Radio was born.
